Cat’s claw is a woody vine native to the Amazon rainforest and other tropical areas in South and Central America. Its name is after the curved, claw-like thorns that grow on its stem.
Cat’s claw has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and been used traditionally for centuries to treat health problems including arthritis, stomach ulcers, inflammation, dysentery, fevers and also helping the body get rid of excess water and to stimulate the immune system.
It has components such as tannins and sterols that help reduce inflammation, and elements such as quinovic acid glycosides that fights viruses.
The tea made from Cat’s Claw can also be used as an Eye Rinse for eye infections.
